My artwork is mainly concerned with Place as an idea, exploring how my perception changes based upon the context in which I am considering it.
I work to build images and structures which address very personal themes yet allow others to recognize something in them that resonates with their own thoughts and feelings.
My pre-artist background was extremely varied: my father is a photographer so my earliest memories involve always having a camera and being taught how to compose a good photograph, working as a seamstress and as a milliner, studying shoe, handbag, and jewelry making, working in an art supply store and in a slide library digitally restoring old images.
My unusual background paired with my art education allows me to feel comfortable and confident working in any medium, letting the idea dictate how it will come to life.
